John Pisapia is a Professor of Organizational Leadership at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. His research interests are leading organizations and people in a global perspective. He has been called the “global professor,” having consulted with leaders in education and business in China, South America, and Europe as well as in the United States. Dr. Pisapia brings over 23 years of administrative experience to his consultancies and over 150 publications. His book, The Strategic Leader promises a new direction for leadership in the post modern condition.
His work with strategic thinking has received national and international attention through papers presented to the American Association of Educational Research, the International Conference in Advances in Management, and the International Leadership Association. His Strategic Thinking Questionnaire (STQ) measures the leader’s use of systems thinking, reframing and reflection. His Strategic Leadership Questionnaire (SLQ) measures the leader’s use of four sets of action in leading their organization/team: managerial, transformational, Bonding, Bridging, and Bartering.
John has been recognized as the first National Professor of the Year by the American Association of School Administrator’s (AASA), honored as a Fulbright Scholar, cited for Outstanding Leadership in Education by Phi Delta Kappa, and for Significant Leadership in Public and Higher Education by the West Virginia University. He recently received the International Schools Association's (ISA) Distinguished Service Award for profound leadership in International Educaiton. He received his doctorate from West Virginia University, USA.
